This is a local gem. People walk, run, bike, and in the winter ski along the old rail bed now part of the trans Canada trail that leads out of Stittsville. Some great stopping points along the way, a few side trails, then, this lookout platform. It's often the turn-around point of walkers, as it makes for a nice after dinner walk distance. But you can go all the way to Ashton by bike, and, that is also a good longer distance objective. There is an excellent cafe / lunch spot at the start, if you are starting in town, but there are various start points. You can even bike from Bells Corners to start.
