This site is for local photographers who wish to show their art quality photos taken locally. Each photo on this site has extra information that photo enthusiasts in turn can learn from to "take that shot". So there is an educational and community element (that will grow). If someone really likes your photo and you offer it for download, they can purchase it for a modest amount.
Adding a photo that is print-worthy requires certain knowledge, especially for larger sizes. If you are interested in contributing, I'd be glad to hear from you. Do you have experience with or interest in print? Any coursework you've completed? Familiar with either Lightroom or Photoshop, that type of thing.
If you offer (you don't have to) and your image is purchased, you get 75-80% of the $5 to $25 price (that you set when you upload) of a digital download, the rest goes to cover site hosting, which is a real cost. You hold the rights. Only a lo-res version of your photos show on the site, but we store the hi-res original in case someone orders a copy.
If you decide to contribute, your username will be enabled for uploads. You'll get a profile page showing your work (lo-res) along with a bio, and, there is no cost to that. Use the contact us to get this started.
Purchasers are free to find a printer online (e.g. posterjaack) or use a custom fine-art printer we recommend locally who will adjust the image for best results and then print it ready for framing. I might reach out to you for a hi-res version in TIFF and in particular in Adobe RGB colour space if you didn't submit that way, if someone prefers that format.
I will evolve this service, but for now, it's a start -- I hope you can relate to the concept. I wrote the software for this site using the laravel framework, which I enjoy, so if you have suggestions, I am happy to make improvements or fix something.
