ABOUT
A pleasant walk around Mud Lake is a favourite amoungst Ottawa's Birder enthusiasts. Birders frequent this 3-4km walk with lots of photo opportunities from various bird types (Yellow Warbler +++) to snapping turtles, and, some old growth forest. It's all very interesting, and a perfect Sunday leisurely stroll activity.
Near: Ottawa
Go: Park off Cassels Street (on the way to the Ottawa Filtration Plant) and past the Britannia Yacht club, it's free parking very close to the trail head. Begin your journey on the trail, circle the lake, and, even go explore the Ottawa River side, look for Herons and other wildlife along the way.
