In the fall, this black and white wouldn't look much different in colour. Taken a few years back, but it's one that has an enduring appeal due to it's symmetry and geometry. Usually we aren't taught to put our subjects in the middle, but this one has leading lines in and out, and, I think it works. It's bleak, but from November to April, that can be Ottawa, so embrace it (and book a trip to Cuba).
Near: Ottawa (Britannia)
Go: Britannia beach rock pier, go to the far mini-beach, which is where I swim in summer as the water is cleaner, and, walk out on the rock pier. It can be very busy in summer, so make sure you bring your camera to the beach in fall for some black and white photos. I pinpointed the exact spot to shoot from in the map below.
