Ottawa Places

This is a very early ALPHA/BETA release of ottawaplaces.ca. There is a lot more to come, each month. For now, the about page says a fair bit.

I developed this site using the laravel framework so it's custom coded and unique to the Ottawa / Gatineau areas, as are the photos, with the intention of capturing wall worthy photos of various types. I am also adding more tools for photographers, so the site is for enthusiasts also as we are a community.

I like the concept of photo-sets, e.g. I like to think about three smaller framed images from various neighbourhoods that depict a theme or elements of the places we live that we relate to. If a photo on this site is included in a photo set, it is shown below the image itself. Fun!

I am also happy to do custom photo shoots, with you -- so you can mix in a few photos from this site with a few we take.

Can we get local art up on our walls? I hope I can get to each neighbourhood, places in the city, nearby towns, and country-side to really show off where we live, but I also know that's going to take a long time. So other photograhers are welcome to join in there is a "collective" possibility with the site.

Since I am the developer, the site can evolve in various forms. But one thing is certain -- I really enjoy getting out to do photo shoots, so check back soon to see more features and more photos.
